New Lensmaster: JonitasKalimpo

As a Citizen Squid and as a committed lensmaster, I spend a LOT of time at SquidU. When an up and coming lensmaster shows up and immediately begins helping and making themselves useful, I notice.

One such is JonitasKalimpo, who came onto the scene in June of this year, and has been an incredibly committed and talented lensmaster.

Joao has created a lens Samsung Blackjack i607 Smartphone Guide, and it really does epitomize what I hope to see as a 'personal shopping assistant' commerce lens at the Mall.

This lens has a very logical layout, with loads of useful information, all with the eye to helping the visitor know whether this particular type of phone is the one for them or not. Joao offers technical details, instructions, and all the accessories, enabling anyone interested to take a good look and make a good choice.

There are beautiful and detailed pictures, a table of contents (or menu) and surprisingly relevant videos!

Extremely well done and I will be proud to feature all of Joao's lenses!

Remodeling: Starting with the Rock Stars!!!

When I took over the Mall group, it had approximately 50 members. It didn't grow much at first, and my own commerce lenses were a LARGE part of the population.

By next Monday, I expect to have over 700.

I am going to update my Squidoo Mall lens today. This will be useful to you to know the minimum standards and what to check for on your lenses.

For the remodeling, I'M STARTING WITH THE ROCK STARS!!!!

Over 600 Mall Members!

Today I have gone through the huge line up of applicants and, out of the ones approved, have now exceeded a membership of 600 commerce lenses!

I also have the distinction of having 7 lenses on the Most Profitable list, and one lens at #2 lensranking today!

I am receiving about 50 good applications to the Mall per week, or more. Does anyone doubt that by the end of the year we will have several thousand members?

We will! We will also have MANY DUPLICATES and MANY COMPETITORS for the traffic that is getting drawn into squidoo.

There are a LOT of decisions I'll be making over the next few weeks.

We want the Mall to be the best we can make it, and the best draw for traffic we can create.

If you have a lot of competitors in Squidoo, then perhaps you want to take a new look at your lens and make sure it is REMARKABLE. At least, to me.

My goal is to turn as many of you as possible into well known small business people who are making an extremely good living from Squidoo. I'm on my way, are you?

We Have A Mall!

Finally I have created a Mall page with EVERYONE on it!

Just like an enormous lens, ALL of our shops show up on the mall, each module grouping them in some sort of theme.

It was an enormous amount of work. I am sure it isn't perfect.

Putting everyone on the page has, it seems to me, given everyone a level playing field. Your store, the picture and its introduction is hopefully attractive enough to draw people into it.

So, I wish everyone the best. I hope you are marketing The Mall to everyone you know, just as you would market your own lenses. The more traffic we can all bring to this landing page, the more interest and sales we will all generate.
